Cross Ange: Rondo of Angels and Dragons Episode 17: The Black Angel of Destruction

Well it’s been nice hanging out in the Dragon Earth but with them now gearing up to try to rescue Aura, Ange is going to have to make her choice though Salamandinay is happy for her to do what she likes once the portal to her world opens. Ange can fight or leave she has earned it even if Salamandinay would like her to help. Tusk doesn’t think it that bad of an idea but Ange is so sick of being lied to, to fight that she just can’t decide giving there been no confirmation helping the Dragons would be the right thing to do. Tusk though is happy to help whatever she decides on.

Later after Tusk suffers a bit more punishment for his falling skills, Ange has to chase off a bunch of Dragon girls who seem fond of the male. She soon warms up though and begins feeding him herself. She is rough to him but she certainly cares for the hapless fool. Watching the Dragons live reminds her of Arzenal in that they are all struggling to live without the ease of mana but are happy in their struggles and so she decides she will return to her life at Arzenal and to those she had left behind like Momoka.

Salamandinay respects Ange’s decision to return and her vow to not fight with the Dragons any longer now that she knows the truth, they both make a promise to finish their games off once Embryo has been bested and Aura restored to his rightful world. Vivian two is given words of encouragement by her mother who knows she has to leave for her other friends but hopes she can welcome Vivian back some time soon. The good byes are soon put to rest as the singularity opens and the Dragons launch forth but things seem a little too easy right now… And Tusk getting to talk about what he hopes for the future is not a good sign at all..

Of course things aren’t going to go smoothly for the DRAGONS entering the human world in the middle of an ambush by Embryo’s forces it soon becomes revealed that Riza has been captured by Embryo and used to lure the Dragon’s into a trap. The ones attacking are three black Paramails whose attacks soon provoke Ange and Tusk to action to stop them cutting down Salamandinay and the Dragons who are forced to retreat while Ange distracts the three riders. They end up been none other than Salia, Ersha and Chris, those most likely to have been saved by Embryo at Arzanal and now serving him it seems. Salia seems overjoyed that her new Paramail puts her stronger than the Villkiss but Ange’s skill allows her to fight up to par even against the 3 v 1 scenario. They attempt to capture her but Tusk and Vivian run enough interference and Ange is able to get the team out of danger by activating the Villkiss’ Blue mode.

The three end up back at Arzenal having avoided been captured but finding the place deserted yet still blood stained. Still Tusk isn’t to worried about Jill and believes she will have survived. The group is soon came upon by some divers though the suits make them seem like monsters and Ange gets very uncharacteristically scared of them. Come on girl you have killed a fucking dragon in single combat almost…  The divers turn out to be none other than Momoka, Hilda and Rosalie however and Hilda has a heck of a greeting for the male Tusk.. ouch.. queen lesbian might not be very thrilled with men…

Back to the false Earth then and the foreshadowing from the opening comes to fruition with Salia, Chris and Ersha now working with Embryo presumably been swayed to his train of thought following him saving them on Arzanel. All this seems to be growing the chance of Ange really wanting to wreak his face, though she may need some extra help if this battle is anything to go by. Thankfully though Hilda and Rosalia are back and presumably so to will be Jill soon who I can’t see as having changed to much. The real question though is what the Dragons are Salako are planing following there forced retreat, Ange will need Salako’s power and help if she is to beat Embryo. 8/10

  1. “Salia seems overjoyed that her new Paramail puts her stronger that the Villkiss”

    1. It’s a Ragnamail.
    2. She did not say anything about Vilkiss, but Ange and herself.
